Our website is finally almost ready to open for business after way too many months of delays. Test orders are going through from end to end tomorrow, so if that goes well, you might be able to start ordering cheap outdoor gear from us this week. We are headed to EORA next week, and the website will for sure be up and running by then. By the way, if anyone wants me to take pictures or get information on specific products at EORA, let me know.

For the site, think Sierra Trading Post, but with a prettier website and hopefully not as many hideous outerwear colors. We are thinking about going for the Moosejaw angle with silly pages and quotes, but with customer service that more accurately reflects our 100% positive ebay feedback. One thing that we really want to do is have a page where people send in photos of them and their dogs outside. Sadly, it might be a while until we have a glossy catalog full of ski babes.

Anyway, we will have several specials running at all times, and everything will always be on sale. If we have to keep an item at full price due to a vendor agreement, then we will throw in some free crap to MAKE it on sale.

I’ll let you guys know when it is actually ready to go. We don’t have a ton of stuff in the website inventory right now, but it is all nice (Patagonia, Timbuk2, Nalgene, Wigwam, TNF, Mammut, etc.) and below retail. Expect the inventory to grow at an exponential rate in the next few months. I am really excited about the site’s potential, so you’ll probably hear about it a lot from me.

Marmot goodness went up last night. I had no idea, but there was Gore Pro Shell, Performance Shell, and Soft Shell stuff in there. It was all I could do to keep from claiming some of it for myself. We have about 30 bins full of Marmot that we received today that will be going up over the next couple of weeks. There are some great items, as well as some truly hideous Precips. I mean, these have never been a good idea, at any point in time. You’ll see what I mean when they get listed. We are hoping that someone will want them just as a joke.

Half of Icebreaker went up tonight, and the other half will go up next week. Once again, it was all I could do to keep from swiping stuff for myself. Next week’s half might not be quite a “half” if my resolve fails. There are a ton of t-shirts, with which I hope to replace all of my daily wearing cotton or polyester t-shirts. There is just no comparison between a Merino wool shirt and anything else. Only one hooded shirt in there, which is a bummer. I ordered myself a Conquest Hood, and it is my new favorite piece of clothing. I’ll do a nice write up on it after I get back from Thanksgiving.

I also relisted all the unsold stuff from the past week or so tonight. There is a ton of good Cloudveil in there, in case you missed it the first time. There are also some jackets that, like the Precips, were not a good idea. Maybe we’ll sell them to a blind cowboy or something. Women’s stuff is going low, as usual, so any ladies watching should grab whatever they want since you won’t get any of this even remotely close to our starting bids anywhere else.

I am working on creating the listings for the 350 pairs of Sorel boots that we have. Hopefully those will start Sunday or Monday. We have literally their entire 2007 line, but all in women’s 7, men’s 9, and kid’s 1/12. There are some nice cold weather boots in there, and some ridiculously furry boots for the ladies as well. Piles of kids boots too if you have a breeding program at your house. Adults boots will start at $9.99, kids probably at $4.99. Maybe cheaper if I am feeling frisky. Don’t expect quality listings on these though. They might just be pictures and what the boot is. Maybe more if Sorel’s website is friendly to me.

Our super dee duper website should finally be up and running a week from Monday. I have seen the final version, and it looks really slick. It is something you would expect out of a company like backcountry.com, not a few rednecks like us in Atlanta. The website will most likely house anything we have multiples or size runs of, while sample sets go to ebay. Who knows though, we might switch it around and see what happens. Right now, we are going to have a lot of small stuff like Nikwax, stove accessories, etc. as well as new stuff from Timbuk2, Jetboil, MSR, and a few others. Lots of Patagonia and The North Face clothing as well. Everything will, of course, be at impulse buy inducing low prices.

I get a lot of questions from you guys and other people about what The Gear Revival is or will be auctioning, so I am going to do a weekly post about what is up there and will be up there for the coming weeks.

Sunday and Monday night saw the entire Fall 2007 line of Cloudveil go live. I pimp them a lot, but that is because the Cloudveil stuff is awesome. I am converting into a big fan of their designs, and they use some great fabrics (I love anyone who uses the Schoeller stuff). Their workmanship is top-notch too. OK, OK, the entire line except what I took for myself went live.

Yesterday and today saw around 100 pieces of Fall 2007 Arc’Teryx go live. This stuff is all brand new, and there is some hot shit in there. Lot of Pro Shell, Gore Soft Shell, some Merino, and everything else. All the Arc that started tonight had a starting bid of $9.99. I’m sure it won’t end even remotely close to that, but I’ll let you get your hopes up at least a little bit.

Tomorrow I am going to go through the warehouse and pull all of the best Marmot stuff we have. We have piles of down, Gore, soft-shell, and tons of other stuff that will go live either tomorrow or Sunday night. There is some decent TNF ski stuff that will go up in the next few days as well. There are about a hundred pieces of Icebreaker that will go live either night as well. We received around 350 pairs of Sorel boots (all men’s 9, women’s 7, and youth 1 or 12) yesterday that will hopefully go live in the next week. If they don’t, I think the rest of the guys there might kill me since we have no room to work because of the damn things.

If anyone is looking for any type of item in particular, send me a PM or reply to this. I’ll do what I can to scare it up and get as many as we have up for auction. Guys technical stuff tends to go for pretty high prices, but you ladies can get some crazy deals, as Cat found out with her recent Alpha LT Pro Shell Pants purchase.

If any of you win any of the auctions, just let me know. I’ll have the shipping guys throw in a free smiley face sticker or something.
