Looks like Amazon is clearing out last years Suunto models at good prices. The big difference between last year and this year’s models is the chest strap, which they changed to a more comfortable strap. I’m not sure if that is worth paying the difference between these prices and full retail, and you can always get a new strap after the fact. My wife and I have T3Cs and really like them. Suuntos take readings several times a second, and are supposed to be the most accurate heart rate monitors on the market. The T3 and above will show you your training effect, which basically tells you if you are working too hard or not hard enough. I know we have some budding uber athletes on the forums, so now might be a good time to get a high quality HRM if you don’t already have one.

REI has the Marmot Sharp Point Jacket for $89.93 right now (regular $250), with a good selection of colors and sizes. This is a great jacket that I have owned for a few years and have been very happy with. It’s rare to find a softshell with pitzips, and this is one of those rare finds. It also has Gore Windstopper, which does exactly what it sounds like it does. Go grab one before they sell out!

Amazon has the Leatherman h502 folding knife with sheath for $28.59, with a $5 rebate. Leatherman makes some awesome multi-tools, and their knives are no slouches. It is 420 HC steel, which is not exactly a super steel, but still has great performance at a low price.
The h502 has a can opener, carabiner/bottle opener, bit holder, and bit driver. I have a previous version of this tool, and have been pretty happy with it.

A little kitty alerted me to a sweet deal at BCO. They have the Merrell Merino T-shirt in blue for $17.50, which is a great price for a merino t-shirt. I have never owned any Merrell merino, but they make high quality stuff in the rest of their line, so I would imagine that their merino would be the same.
850 left as of this post, and no quantity limits like SAC, so stock up! I’ll probably buy around 10.

Ibex makes some great stuff for those of you who have never tried it out. Their stuff tends to be a tighter weave than Icebreaker generally uses, so it will hold up better and block wind better, but is not as soft. All their stuff might not be like that, but that is my experience poking around on the racks whenever I see Ibex in stores.
