Add these three sets to your cart:
Tinker with free Classic
Classic 3 pack
One Handed Trekker with free Classic
$10 is automatically subtracted in your cart, making it $44.39. Other combinations can be made, but this one is great if you are looking for small Christmas gifts and maybe a nice knife or two for yourself. Prices usually constantly fluctuate a few cents, so you might get something slightly different.

Altrec has a nice sale going on at the moment, with some stuff up to 75% off after the combined savings. Add the 40% off coupon (Save40now) and you have some sweet deals.
REI does its super clearance twice a year, every February and August. They will take an additional 50% off on items that have prices ending in .83, so the savings can be crazy sometimes. Expect minimum discounts off retail to be 60% on super clearance items, usually more.
The store sale starts on Friday, and runs for 10 days. The vast majority of the items will be clearanced the first day, but they will add items throughout the week, so additional visits can be worth the drive sometimes. If you want the really good stuff, be there when the store opens on the first day and go straight to what you really want. Expect to see assholes with 15 sleeping bags being dragged behind them. Feel free to kick these guys in the nuts, unless it is me, in which case you should help me carry the bags.
Online is a completely different matter. Sometimes it starts on Friday, sometimes it starts a day or two earlier. Expect things to sell out fast. REI does not update its inventory real time, so sometimes you still might have items that are out of stock. Even if you have stuff on your order you end up not wanting, you can always call and cancel after you place the order or just return it in store.
If you want me to be your best friend ever, and more importantly keep my poor ass doing giveaways and passarounds, use these links to shop and add things to your cart:
REI
REI Outlet
If you want to see the clearance items, use the menu up top, hover over a category, then click on the “sale and clearance” link. Look for items ending in .83. Your cart is the same for REI and REI Outlet, so feel free to jump back and forth between the sites. Place small orders for in store pick up instead of spending a lot of time shopping, because everything good will be gone by the time you are done.

REI Outlet’s deal of the day is the Keen Catalina Sandals (women’s, if the name wasn’t enough of a clue) for $24.93. Combine this with the current 20% off they have going, and you have a pretty sweet deal for some nice sandals. Two colors and lots of sizes available.

This is not exactly outdoors related (sorry, I have had too many of those lately), so skip on down if you are looking for fire or flashlights…
Ask anyone who has Amazon Prime (like Cat) and they will tell you that it is the bestest thing ever. Basically, you get free two-day shipping on everything Amazon sells, and $3.99 one day shipping if you need something in a hurry. They also ship items a LOT faster (same day if it is before a certain time) than if you just use their regular shipping. My Prime membership ran out a while back, and I am going through withdrawal thanks to their slow ass super saver shipping and week long waits before items ship.
Amazon lets people try it for free every now and then, and it looks like they are letting qualifying members try it free for a month. The terms mention new members, so you might need to sign up for a new account if it doesn’t work with your original account. Also, you do have to give your credit card information, so just make sure that you cancel before the month is up if you don’t think the service is worth the $79 annual fee. From what a certain little kitty tells me, you can also share it with three other people, which makes the $79 fee a lot more palatable if you do not order from amazon every two days. With the awesome grocery deal they have this month, now is a good time to try Prime.

Amazon has the SAK Ranger and Midnite Minichamp both at $19.99 right now. These aren’t your average SAKs, with the Minichamp being only 2 1/4″ long, about the size of the Classic model. The Ranger is a bit larger 3 1/2″ long, but slim compared to some of the more fully featured models.

It’s no Hennessy or Clark, but it’s also not $200-300 like them. Hammocks.com has a decent looking hammock that would be great for summer camping for only $16.

Looks like Amazon is clearing out last years Suunto models at good prices. The big difference between last year and this year’s models is the chest strap, which they changed to a more comfortable strap. I’m not sure if that is worth paying the difference between these prices and full retail, and you can always get a new strap after the fact. My wife and I have T3Cs and really like them. Suuntos take readings several times a second, and are supposed to be the most accurate heart rate monitors on the market. The T3 and above will show you your training effect, which basically tells you if you are working too hard or not hard enough. I know we have some budding uber athletes on the forums, so now might be a good time to get a high quality HRM if you don’t already have one.

REI has the Marmot Sharp Point Jacket for $89.93 right now (regular $250), with a good selection of colors and sizes. This is a great jacket that I have owned for a few years and have been very happy with. It’s rare to find a softshell with pitzips, and this is one of those rare finds. It also has Gore Windstopper, which does exactly what it sounds like it does. Go grab one before they sell out!
Thanks to outdoors247 for pointing this out in the forums.
