Thanks to Cat’s deal hunting, I am now the proud owner of a fancy new camera bag, the LowePro Slingshot 200. This is definitely a step up from my previous at home storage solution (the floor) and could also be considered better than my trip storage solution (a ziplock bag).
My first impression was that this thing has a ton of room. Here is my Pentax K10D with kit lens attached and zoom lens in the main compartment:

I just got done selling on ebay around $1200 of knives that I have amassed and been disappointed in, so I figured it was about time to replenish my stocks. I ordered five from amazon thanks to the recent deals and one from EDC Depot that I have had my eye on for a long while.
Here is some knife porn for you:

In case anyone reads the blog but avoids the forums, we have several threads that have gone up tonight about some incredible knife deals that amazon.com has going. They must be trying to clear stock because the prices are way below retail. They even beat ebay prices by a wide margin on tons of knives, which is usually very hard to do. There are lots of respectable brands in the mix, including Spyderco, Kershaw, Ka-Bar, Buck, Victorinox, and several others.
Here are the threads:

I just posted an entry all about fatwood over at the wiki. I’m sure it is rife with errors, so feel free to join and correct anything you see that is wrong.
One thing that you’ll notice is that I do not yet have any links in the article. Much of the knowledge contained in the wiki will not be present in linkable materials, and will be “how-tos” instead of encyclopedic articles like the ones found in wikipedia.

Well kids, we now have a wiki. Setting it up was a giant pain in my booty thanks to the way my host’s servers are configured, but good ol’ google came to the rescue in the form of a french support forum that had a few lines in english with exactly what I needed.
Anyway, go to town and write articles about whatever you want. All I ask is that they pertain to the outdoors in some way. In true wiki spirit, I left it completely alone, so feel free to edit the home and any other page with something you think is appropriate.
